Brand New Doesn't Mean Built Right
You waited months for this house. Dozens of people built it, across a dozen trades, on a schedule. We inspect it independently before you close — while the builder is still the one responsible for fixing what we find.
Nobody on That Site Was Working for You
The framers moved on before the plumbers arrived. The plumbers moved on before the drywall went up. Every handoff is a place something gets missed, and nobody circles back.
The township inspected for code. The builder's superintendent inspected for schedule. Neither one was asking whether you are getting what you paid for.
So you walk through a beautiful, empty, brand-new house and you have no idea whether the ductwork is connected, whether the flashing was installed, or whether the electrical was finished correctly. It looks perfect. That's the problem.
We inspect new construction across South Jersey every month, and we find things on nearly every one. Not because builders are careless — because houses are complicated and people are busy. We're not adversarial with your builder. We just document what's there, clearly enough that it can be fixed without an argument.
How It Works
Schedule Before Closing
Book a time when the home is substantially complete — ideally before your final walkthrough, so the findings are in hand when you walk it.
We Inspect
A full evaluation of every major accessible system, using thermal imaging and drone roof evaluation where conditions allow.
Bring It to Your Builder
Your same-day report gives you a documented, photographed punch list to resolve before final acceptance.
What We Find in New Homes
Roofing
Missing or improper flashing, installation defects, unsealed penetrations.
Plumbing
Leaks at new connections, improper venting, fixtures left unsecured.
Electrical
Reversed polarity, missing GFCI protection, open grounds, unfinished terminations.
HVAC
Disconnected or crushed ductwork, improper venting, equipment never fully commissioned.
Exterior & Drainage
Grading sloped toward the foundation, downspouts discharging at the wall.
Insulation & Attic
Gaps, compressed batts, exhaust fans terminating into the attic.
Interior & Safety
Damaged components, missing hardware, incomplete work, safety devices not installed.
Included at No Extra Cost
Thermal Imaging
Finds missing insulation, air leakage, and moisture behind brand-new drywall.
Moisture Meter Evaluation
Confirms whether a stain is a leak.
Drone Roof Evaluation
When the roof can't be safely walked.
Same-Day Digital Report

Haven Home Portal
Your home's permanent record, starting from day one.
Want the Cosmetic Details Handled Too?
The inspection covers how the house works. The Blue Tape Walkthrough covers how it looks.
Paint defects, drywall imperfections, flooring and surface damage, cabinet damage, trim and caulking deficiencies, door and window finish issues — the things that are simple to correct now and nearly impossible to get addressed after you've signed.
It complements the technical inspection. It doesn't replace it. Starting at $225.
Two Stages, Two Inspections
Pre-Drywall — Framing, rough-ins, and structural connections inspected while still visible, before insulation and drywall cover them permanently. See our Pre-Drywall Inspection page.
Pre-Closing — The completed, operational home, inspected while the builder still has to fix it. Many buyers do both. They're looking at two different houses.
New Homes Aren't Exempt From These
New construction doesn't shield a home from environmental or concealed-system concerns. These add-ons are worth considering before you close — while the builder can still be asked to address what we find.
Radon Testing
$150Radon comes from the soil under the house, not its age. Tight new construction traps it more effectively.
Learn MoreSewer Scope
$275New laterals get crushed during backfill or set at improper slope. A camera finds it before you own it.
Learn MoreWater Quality Testing
$275Recommended for any home on a private well — lead, nitrate, and bacteria don't care that the house is new.
Learn MoreYour Leverage Expires at Closing
Right now, every defect we find is the builder's problem to solve before you sign.
The day after closing, the same defect becomes a warranty claim. You'll file it, wait, follow up, and hope it lands inside the coverage window — and some of it won't be covered at all.
The house doesn't change. Your position does.
What You'll Walk Away With
A documented, photographed list of what needs to be corrected, in language your builder can act on without a fight. A clear understanding of the home you're about to own. And a walkthrough where you're not just nodding at fresh paint.
